The United Architects of the Philippines – Baguio Chapter held its special general meeting last Thursday, August 8, 2016 at the Club Filipino in San Juan City, wherein ALT Cladding Inc. was invited to talk about the technical aspect of Curtain Walls.
The event was done in Manila for the first time as its objective was to gather members of UAP- Baguio who are mostly already based in the Metro. UAP-Baguio President Arch. Shella Soriano formally welcomed the guests, both architects & non-architects to the event.
ALT Technical Director for Sales and Marketing Ranel Opamin discussed about the fundamentals, the technical do’s and don’ts of Curtain Wall designing which could help the architects in their future projects. The technical presentation was followed by an inspirational talk by Arch. Jeremy Acosta, Technical Management Group Head of Taft Property Venture Development Corporation who shared his real-life experiences with few of the biggest Architects in the world. Arch. Adrian Capunfuerza from Pru Life U.K also did a short talk on Financial Wellness for Architects before the event formally ended.
UAP- Baguio is looking at holding their next GMM in Singapore in 2017 to be able to reach their fellow architects who are based there.
ALT, represented by Vice President of Construction and Administration Edwin Agustin & Technical Director Ranel Opamin, attended one of this year’s most awaited events in the construction industry, Vietbuild 2016, which took place at the Saigon Exhibition & Convention Center, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam last June 24-28, 2016.
Addressing the opening ceremony was Deputy Minister of Construction Bui Pham Khanh who emphasized that Vietbuild Expo, in the last 15 years has become an international economic event, attracting the participation of both Vietnamese and International Community to be able expand trade relations and investment cooperation all over the world.
Attended by domestic and foreign entrepreneurs, construction contractors, engineers, architects, partners and consultants, Vietbuild 2016 had again successfully given exhibitors and those in the construction industry an opportunity to seek new solutions on building and design products & advanced scientific products to serve the industry better.
With 2,430 pavilions, 423 domestic enterprises, 215 joint ventures and 162 foreign companies and corporations around the world that participated, the exhibition has again enabled them to showcase the latest high-quality products in numerous fields like construction, construction materials, real estate, exterior home decoration, electrical and sanitary equipment, doors and even door fittings.
