Cladding University 

Welcome to Cladding University. Cladding University is ALT's web-based educational center for those interested in learning more about cladding systems and curtain wall. Although you can't earn a degree at Cladding University,  you can learn the basics (and more) about cladding design and construction.

Testing 101 - Introduction to Mockup Testing
The basics of curtain wall mockup testing are presented.  Common testing methods are covered as well as some common pitfalls to look out for when testing cladding systems.

Testing 102 - The Visual Mockup
Visual mockups are discussed.   The why, when, and where of visual mockups are explained.

Testing 201 - Intermediate Mockup Testing
The different tests of curtain wall mockup testing are examined in detail.

Testing 202 - Mockup Equipment
The instruments and equipment commonly used in curtain wall mockup testing are discussed.

Field testing of cladding systems are covered. Reasons for field testing are explained.

Engineering 101 - Calculation Organization and Numbering   
Basic calculation presentation is the key to a useful set of calculations.  Too many engineers focus on the technical content of their calculations resulting in a disjointed, hard-to-understand set of documentation.

The common practice of cladding consultants to work for both owners and cladding subcontractors is examined.
